We played host to Mountcollins last Saturday afternoon in very wet conditions and after an impressive performance, we recorded our first win of the county league following a draw with Pallasgreen in the opening round the previous week. Ballysteen pretty much dominated proceedings for the majority of the game and at half time led on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-0 with the majority of the scores coming from the boot of John Collins. Heavy rain and a wet surface hampered both sides throughout the game but Ballysteen played with good intensity and a low scoring second half saw us outscore our opponents by 0-5 to 0-2 to record a comfortable 12 point winning margin. All involved on the day played well and did their part.
