All Even In Rhebogue

We opened our Division 1 league campaign with a deserved draw under lights in Rhebogue, the score was Ballysteen 1-5 St. Patrick’s 0-8.

Despite missing several players, the team put in a good performance. The opening 30 minutes were a tight affair with teams spurning a number of attacking opportunities. Pats found their range soon after the restart and led by 0-8 to 0-4 with 10 minutes remaining, but a strong a finish saw us take a share of the spoils. A free from Pakie Moran cut the deficit to 3, and Maurice Somers tied the game up when he blast to the net from a tight angle following some good build up play. Despite creating some great chances in the closing minutes we were unable to find a winning score. A good performance on the night and we move forward with confidence to Round 2 against Na Piarsaigh this Saturday at 2pm in Caherdavin.
